The repetition of the problem is due to the battery. The effect you are seeing appears to be the instrument cluster missing the clock signal message when it is sent on the bus. GAP are introducing a vehicle reset (in beta) to allow a quick reset without a reflash. This will help but clearly you need to get your battery/power issue sorted to stop the issue repeating itself.

As Robbie says, it's related to battery volts.
If I have my doors open all day, or leave it parked up for a few days, my clock will also disappear. Should really get my new battery fitted My D3 Build Thread
Or at least, not at the moment - I wouldn't put any option past the ability of GAP Mark.

I imagine the output of the Webasto timer Could be wired into the FBH LED. No idea if we will ever see the programmable FBH on D3 again thoughMy D3 Build Thread

I did the 07 COD update without the FBH light tonight. Looks much more modern too. I did manage to goof up the tool activation codes but i've obviously sorted that little error. Thanks to Gap on that one.
I've just got to work out the Android app as it's a tad confusing for my little brain.
But the IP is working. Thanks Gap Freelander SE 2005 Auto.

Hi all, just about to do all the flash upgrades on my wife 2005 D3, I don't have the OEM radio, but an aftermarket one. Any idea what will happen? Will the COD function work, IE does the clock time come from some other ECU not the radio?

I'm working on this at the moment, using a little add on board that connects to can bus at fbh plug, still struggling with the fan operation though a gap option would be good.Best ever LR110

I spotted somewhere online an image of an Australian D3. There was a more conventional "lights on" symbol in green showing where we have the red FBH light. If there was a supply of these and the dash is easy to remove, we could get things working the way we want.
