Climate control recirculation issue
Hi everyone,
Still haven't solved my climate control recilculation issue (http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic108325.ht...ation+flap). Although it has been diagnosed by the dealer and still waiting for some answers, after lots of observation and trials, I tend to conclude that this is recirculation motor or ACT module problem, most probably the first. TOPIX instructions suggest that motor access is possible from the top of the console panel, which means a total instrument and console dismantle!!!
So, my question is:
1. Has any of the experts on here ever done that?
2. Is there another easier access to the motor or ACT?
3. Is the ACT in front of or behind the HVAC unit (ie towards front or rear of car in respect to the HVAC unit)? TOPIX is not very clear on that.
4. Expecting my IID Tool BT this week, so anyone has any idea if I could use that to check the motor input/output values? Is ACT reprogramming possible?
Any suggestions GREATLY appreciated, as I'm in deep water here! Thanks!

Faulty humidity sensor?
Thanks to the IIDTool and the GAP-Diagnostic team help, I was able to finally track down the problem to the windshield temperature/humidity sensor.
So, went onto TOPIX to find details about that but I can get no reference for it in the workshop manual. Could anyone guide me to the right direction? I'm trying to find the correct installation instructions of the sensor on the windshield, before I conclude it's a faulty sensor.
As DG had pointed out in another thread it must be part no C3847.
Any info greatly appreciated!

There does not seem to be much info on this, so I would be grateful if anyone with a MY14/15 could post a close photo of the sensor with the cover off, so that I can see how it is placed on the windscreen. Thanks!

Hi Dan,
I uploaded some pictures for you people, so that you know how to remove and what to expect. Overall it's very easy, pull the right side further out and the cover should unclip. Check the cover notches to have a better understanding.
On my setup, the sensor is very wabbly and does not sit on the windshield surface steadily. Is this the case with yours as well? Is there any adhesive membrane or similar between the sensor and windshield to make it sit steady in place?
Thanks
Sensor with base on windshield (sorry for the bad quality of picture, will try to get a better one later). Check the notches on left and right side - so you have to pull the right side):

There is nothing between the sensor and the screen and when the sensor is clipped into place on the bracket bonded to the screen there is a little bit of movement.
Hope that helps Cheers Ian

Thanks so much, Ian!!! You really helped me out here!
Placement of the sensor ok then, one parameter out of the equation.
