Clicking Brake on TDV6 Auto!!!! Any thoughts??? |
|
Good morning Truckers!
I'm about to visit my local Stealership, this week, to get a few wee 'niggles' sorted on my 2006my TDV6, i.e.:
1. Stoplight bulb out (how often do you see other D3's with bulbs out!!! I've seen it all the time! Is LR buying in cheap bulbs or something?)
2. Turbo lag (VERY hesitant when accelerating from stop) V. well disscussed on this forum I see!
3. Trim panels in boot re-fitted as falling off
4. Horn fixed as only 'blowing' on 1 trumpet! (Oh matron!)
5. CLUNKING wipers replaced!
6. NOW MY QUESTION My D3 is Auto, and maybe this is why, but when sitting stationary, and you touch the footbrake, there is a loud 'click' noise which then makes another click noise at the gear lever and makes it vibrate!!! IS THIS NORMAL.. DOES ANYONE ELSE'S AUTO TDV6 DO THIS? I'm just interested to know as (if it IS normal) I won't mention it at dealer, but if not I scream and scream and scream until i'm sick!!!
Thanks folks! Est-ce que bonjour, vous aime ma nouvelle découverte brillante gentille trois, je pense qu'elle regarde les boules de chiens, pas vous ?

Its perfectly normal, except maybe the vibration is unusual. The footbrake operates a detent switch on the lever which prevents you from shifting into gear when you have not got your foot on the brake. This is the click you hear, mine does it noticably too.

Point one - common problem - I am going to replace mine with LED'S
Point 2 - Chip your car - I won't suggest any specific one - but search the archives - discussed in detail
Point 4 - BTDT
Point 5 BTDT
Point 6 - Yes mine does the same - but it isn't very loud . It's the nanny releasing the gear lever so that you can engage drive

Ahhhhh... good!
I thought it sounded a bit like a relay switch (or something else technical!) But i'm glad it is nothing 'more' that would require investigation and lots of work!
I have had my D3 for 18 months now (longest EVER had a vehicle) and absolutely love it... my only change will be to another one!
(I'm going to pose a question online to see if anyone knows of any MAJOR facelift changes coming for the D3 in the next year or two as i'd like to change for another but only if there is some noticable changes?) Do you happen to know of any?
Many thanks anyway for your reply!
