Christmas Lights - after injector swap

Hey all,
I am after tapping into the fount of knowledge. First background -

Had a diesel leak on injector (no 6 I think - back right), had it out tried to replace the seal wouldn't tighten up so had to be a new injector. The indy who was doing the work put it in and the diesel leak is gone (hurrah!)- but the battery was off for a couple of days while we waited on the injector arriving.

Now when I start up I get loads of lights (just in time for Christmas) and errors.

Body Control

B1B87-3A (2F) Seat height motor speed/position sensor - Frequency modulation/pulse width modulation failure - incorrect, has too many pulses

Engine TDV6

P0238-17 (2F) Turbo/supercharger boost sensor A - circuit high - General electrical failure - circuit voltage above threshold
Parking Brake

U0100-87 (EB) Lost communication with engine control module/powertrain control module 'A' - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message

Vehicle Dynamic

U0401-68 (2B) Invalid data received from engine control module/powertrain control module - Algorithm based failure - event information

Also errors on the dashboard parkbrake fault, HDC disabled and transmission err with a big F.

The indy is adamant he didn't remove any control modules.

But the more I look into it the more I think it could be a battery issue. I plugged in the IID and its giving a healthy 14.5V when running. But when off it quite quickly drops to 12.1. So off I went to get the battery tested, the test is putting it at 78% capacity which the battery people say is within limits.

Whats everyone's thoughts, battery or something a bit darker?

Also on the battery mine has an AGM genuine landrover battery fitted, but the part code recommended isn't an AGM battery (he tells me thats usually for cars with stop/start). Should me 08 TDV6 need an AGM battery?

Oh I am reckoning we can safely ignore the boost sensor as when he was kneeling on the engine to change the injector it snapped! Rolling Eyes

Thanks in advance for any help!

The first thing I would do is put a new battery in it, I would have thought that 78% was not within limit but that's just my opinion!! To do a full battery test takes at least 24 hours not just a stick it on charge for a while then see what it does...

These beasts are extremely vulnerable to electrical issues, they love a good fully charged battery or they throw all sorts of electrical Wobblies!! particularly dashboard lights that you haven't seen for years suddenly light up and join the party...

Stick a known good battery on it and see what happens.

Good luck, keep us updated.

Yeahs that’s what I am starting to understand.

The level of panic on my face was unbelievable when driving away.

What’s your opinion on AGM batteries for them. I have read quite a few posts and am inclined to just go with a normal Tayna battery.

Buts it’s got an AGM on it now.

Thanks!

I know nothing about the AGM battery, most people I know use the Tanya make, myself included.

Can you not borrow a known good one from your indi. just to see what happens

Exide 017 or 019 is plenty good enough for a D3, 019 is same fitting as 017 but classed as heavy duty, if doing a lot of short journeys particularly in winter an AGM would definitely charge faster and be superior.
Tayna are definitely recommended suppliers, usually next day delivery Thumbs Up

p.s. Tayna is not a typo Smile
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Well after receiving my Ctek 5.0 and putting it on charge overnight (make use of the Christmas light waterproof box!) this morning... drum roll... no warning/problems!

I assume this is the start of battery issues, but at least I can drive it without feeling like it’s going to break for another day.

You learn somthing new everyday!

Thanks for your help guys.
