Christmas Eve in New Zealand |
|
Meant to post this a couple of weeks ago, but time seems to have gotten away!
While we dream of a white christmas like you guys have had, it's the middle of summer for us down here. This year, while visting the in-laws on the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand, I took the D4 and drone out for a little play.
King of the typo.
MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bournville, lots of goodies!
Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

Happy New Year KiwiD4 - beautiful countryside, superb aerial work.
Here in Australia we are about to watch BBC/TVNZ's Coast New Zealand on Foxtel's History Channel.
Your drone piloting may put you in good stead whenever they need a standby cameraman. Keep up the good work! LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Thanks.
That’s 1 km out to sea, which is the limit of that drones range (P3 Standard). Good thing about it is if it does lose signal, it will return back to where it took off from, but I was able to maintain control anyway. King of the typo.

Stunning vista KiwiD4. Keep telling SWMBO about how beautiful and friendly NZ was when I visited a few years back and how we should consider emigrating!

Thanks T2.
It is gorgeous here - but funnily enough, after visiting the UK earlier this year, I'm breaking my neck to move to Scotland! Coming back for another holiday in June, but it's just not enough.
I guess we take for granted what is around us and see the greener grass on the other side of the fence - or globe! King of the typo.
