Chipping or not

Fitting a chip is adertised as upgrading performance (torque and MPH) so, has anyone had personal experience of such benefits and if a 'simple'(?) chip upgrade can achieve such improvments, why don't LR chip in the same way?

Engines are engineered to the lowest common denominator of fuel so that the engine will run anywhere in the world. In countries such as the UK fuel is very good quality so the engine can be tuned to run at these higher levels, which in simple terms is what chipping does. It remaps the cars software.

Some companies such as Mitsubishi and Isuzu will chip your car as part of their services. LR do not do this. So it comes down to personal choice if you want the extra performance have the car chipped. Remember is LR detected it this would invalidate the warranty, but most chip claim to be undetectable.

I have not chipped mine but it is always in my mind as it a big improvement in performance. Speak to Turbo Chip if you want to know the full ins and outs. So far he has been the only tuner to prove his car on and off road with anyone able to drive it.
