That was the first message I had. Checked all pressures and it still said the same. Dealer disabled the system for me and told me that they were advising customers not to order it. There must be a system reset or something. They couldn't find it though.

For what its worth, the dealer told me not to bother with it too. He said they were having problems with it.

Well, it does work..  ...a tiny screw has worked its way into the tread and caused a VERY slow puncture...need to get that fixed I suppose!.....now , who do I let loose with my pride and joy?? 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

spoke to local dealers....£30 to fix a puncture ....Ha ha ha....one service guy did however say...anyone can fix it, just don't touch the valve as thats the tpms sender!...
will have it done locally! 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

I have to say that I am happy with the TPMS - it has never lied to me yet.
May sure that the setting is set for the correct load. If you have a laden car and haven't set the TPMS for this it will tell you that your pressures are all low.

Confused now, where is the TPMS (Tyre Pressure Management Sensor I guess) and how do you set it.
I have wondered how the car can know the tyres are low and assumed the suspension system senses it somehow but basically dont have clue and am interested to know. Life is what you make it.

Sensors (senders) are in the tyre valves - these must not be replaced by 'normal valves' if you get puncture fixed or a tyre change.
Pressure warning level is set by holding in the switch with the engine off but the ignition on until the usual 'boing' happens and the info panel tells you that TPMS is set for heavy load.
The TPMS control is on the dash to the left of the parking sensor manual activation switch and central locking controls above the audio system. TPMS is an optional extra for MY07 on so if you haven't asked for it to be fitted it probably isn't.

must say that the warning happened when the back tyre was 38psi (normally 42 psi) so it certainly seems pretty sensitive and has done its job perfectly today for me (was on the High Load setting)
I'd have it again without a doubt 
(infact my last 3 cars have had it and my wifes new B-Class merc has it as standard!) 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

But in the Merc it is a £35 option - yes £35 - not £350 as in the Disco!!!!
At that price it is always worth it.

Not too accurate though by the look of things. If it worked well it would tell you which tyre had a reduced pressure i.e. the one with the screw rather than saying check all pressures?

For some reason the only wheel it can specifically identify is the spare - rather odd as this seems not to be the most likely one to get a puncture!
