Check your roof seams!

2010 D4, so its getting on a bit but I didn't expect the seam sealer to fail.

After washing the car last night I noticed a damp patch where the roof lining meets the a pillar trim, so I removed the front gutter trim (short roof rails) to find the seam sealer is all shrunk.

I've cleaned the gutter out, masked off either side & scotch brite'd the shrunken sealer which is almost the whole length. Just waiting for the motor factors to deliver some tiger seal.

Then I've got full length rails coming from powerfuluk as all the cover caps are broken anyway.

I Know I also need to check the sunroof drains & a pillar hole stickers (I put gorilla tape over 1 hole after losing an A pillar trim about 5 years ago)

See from 1/2 way down page 2 on this thread

It appears to be a fault coming to light on just a few D3's, but yours is the first D4 I've heard of.

However, I've just realised my D3 was @11yrs old when it happened, about the same age as your D4 now.

If you still have the car I'd think about doing the whole seam in the same way maybe.
