cheap D4 conversion..

Has anyone ever seen one of the Ebay D4 conversions?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122308707440

In the pics it looks ok, but I wonder if up close it’s seriously poor.. at that price I’d be tempted!

I missed out on a D4 conversion from a member on here through forgetting, now I’m tempted again.

I’d be very nervous of buying one of these conversions and would be more tempted to collect genuine parts, but obviously that soon adds up and makes it pointless..

I’d happily do it myself, or attempt it atleast.

It’s just whether to go for all genuine parts or use some of these cheapie parts..

I'd go for origninal wings and then buy OEM.

From personal experience go for genuine wings at least. Pattern parts take some "adjusting".

D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten
RR Classic - gone to car heaven

Simple really D4 has better exterior features than the D3..

Not really my kind of thing, but for that kind of money it’s not a bad upgrade.

Although I won’t be bothering.

I liked the older D4 look more than the D4 facelifted (2013+?) looks. I would imagine everyone has their opinion after all that’s what a lot of forum is about - modding it for your own pleasure Thumbs Up

I agree, I really like the 2010-13 look.

Definitely, if I could do it for the right price it would stop me changing to a D4, but by the time you’ve added wheels, paint etc with the kit I posted above, it works out a lot spent and not worthwhile to me.

I’m just about to do this conversion and would not hesitate to use these parts. I’ve used them previously and imported parts from overseas into the Uk. A lot of these pattern parts are top quality and often you will find that they are produced for car manufacturers in the same factory and carry the oem part number embossed on the rear the only stamp that’s missing is the actual manufacturers stamp ie. Audi VW etc a lot of stuff made in China is made to insurance industry standards for non genuine parts.

I still maintain that stating wth the cup holders is the gateway drug to more modding... Rolling with laughter
