For how many days can I park my Disco without charging it. I did´nt start it for about a month, and now there is no power at the battery. The battery is 3 years old and 120 ah in a good quality.

To be fair, I parked mine in storage for about 3 months when my tracker reported low battery (10.5 volts). I never gave it a thought when I parked it up.

The battery was goosed however although at that point it was 5 years old.

A dark science guessing how long is too long!

I've left mine for a month and it started fine, at three years old i think you'd benefit from a new battery Thumbs Up

As the Disco is my 2nd car and only 5k miles a year, i also trickle charge it through the winter months Thumbs Up

I regularly leave mine for 4-5 weeks at a time and so far it still starts on the button every time. Was going to give it a charge the other day for the first time but it was reading 12.8 so I just left it. Vehicle is 4 years old

I left mine for 2 weeks recently and forgot to stick it on the ctek. Battery wouldn’t turn it over, and the battery is about 2 year old.

I’ve left the car at the airport, done 2-3 week business trips, came back and had it start reliably in -25 oC. Thumbs Up

D3 now 12 years old.

Original battery lasted 7 years and was only goosed when the alternator took it down. Second battery is now 5 years old and will need replaced before winter. Main difference in operating was in the first 6 years I did a respectable mileage after that no more than 4500 miles per year with lots of short journeys. Lesson in here somewhere me thinks!

Thanks for all the answers. I charged the battery and now after 24 hours the voltage is 12,46 V. The multimeter shows 0,44 V between battery minus and the frame. Are thiese values normal ?

I would think a bad connection to the frame with that sort of voltage drop .

OK. Now I have cleaned up the frame connection. I think it was OK, but it´s cleaned up now. I will have to watch the battery for the next days.

Mine is a 2006 on original battery, for the first couple of year it did 40k a year, then it's been mostly a local runabout with the odd airport run. Then the last couple of years, it's often left parked up for 3 months at a time. (Change of circumstances out the country alot) Always starts straight off when I get back, give it a few minutes to sort the suspension out etc, then good to go. Can't see the battery lasting much longer though, I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

I think it overcharge. The multimeter says 15 V. Isn´t that too much. Does this mean a complete new generator ?
