I'm not surprised. Roych was always a controversial route. Chapel Gate was impossible in a D3 (too wide) I did it once in my Series 2, and it was horrible.
Shame though, Roych was always a good drive.

Permanent TRO's were applied several weeks ago. These aren't the first in a The Peaks and won't be the last. More are in the 'consultation stage'. For that read 'awaiting the rubber stamp' Brushfield looks like being the next on the list. If you fancy driving this iconic lane you'd better do it sooner than later.

Where is Brushfield? Im not familiar with that one, or maybe know it under a different name.
EDIT.. Just realised, its the lane I know as Putwell Hill, climbs up the rocky track, and has the stunning view down to the river from the top. Also known as Monsal Dale.

That's the one. One part of it will be a footpath only, the rest a bridleway. GLASS and TRF had been asking people for proof of it having been driven years ago, but limited information was forthcoming so it's odds on it will be closing for us.

i was until they closed them a regular user of these lanes. I can say that there was no reason to close chapel gate as they had just spent loads repairing it to a standard that you could drive up the steep hill in a Volvo.
I also see no real reason for Monsal Dale to be shut as i regularly drive this one in a standard D2current

There's a lack of proof that it was driven pre March 2006 therefore we could all have been driving it without the correct 'permissions'. Without the necessary proof it looks like closure is a done deal.
