Changing Wood Panels / Door ... How To Remove!?

My car spec was perfect when I bought it - except for the wood panels, which I always thought were verging on comedic.

With the passing of my beloved dog; I’ve wanted to revamp the car so it feels new to me; and doesn’t trigger my emotions as much (she was in the car every day; sometimes for hours).

As silly as it might sound; I thought now was the time for a refresh; I’ve spruced the wood panels on the dash and put dial covers on:

And I’ve ordered official LR black door inserts; so I can get rid of the wood ones. But how; do I get these off!?!? I’ve tried a trim remover tool but it seems too stiff and I didn’t want to force it:

If I remember correctly, you need to remove the door card and remove the internal door handle. With the door card off it will become clear. It slides backwards I think so don’t try prying it off.

Hi, to be honest; I’ve not gotten around to doing the swap yet! So the wood is still in my car. I’d love to do the swap but haven’t had time. If I get to it, I’ll report back.

You don't need to remove the door panels. I have done it. You do need to remove / loosen the door handle. There are a couple of screws holding it in - behind little concealing caps. Once loose, they need to be 'shoved' forward (towards the main door hinge if you get me) by a couple of millimteres - have a look at t he fixings on the new ones to get an idea. Needs a fair bit of brute force and make sure they sit secure or they will vibrate when the stereo is loud...

Think there are some details on youtube.
