Sent the wife to LR to get one will try that in a wee while.

Is that likely to be causing this issue then?

Replace the fuel filter with genuine LR !

New LR filter in but no luck, I can see a leak though where the new sensor screws in.

Thinking maybe need to replace the complete rail with a sensor on it from a breakers???

Hi David
Sorry I'm travelling at the moment. A new PFR is not cheap so perhaps the breakers is your best bet. I'll be home tomorrow night and will be able to focus better then.

That’s very low. What is the pressure control duty cycle? Are you certain the pipes are on the filter correctly?

Had the pipes all off and pushed them all back on checking them 1 by 1 to make sure that they all connected properly. Will need to check the pressure control duty cycle tomorrow as don’t know tbh

no worries, I will try and get a look for some rails on eBay tomorrow.

Really need the car on the road, at the stage where I wish I could find a good local LR specialist that I could hand it to diagnose for me. 😫😩

i have never understood if there is a possibility to have a problem on the HPFP cause from LPFP. theoretically when LPFP does not deliver fuel according to standards HPFP gives a fault and car goes to limp mode. i do believe though that during that process the HPFP is also damaged, at least on my case i had to change both to eliminate the fault. started with LPFP but still the fault was there, only when i've changed HPFP the problem was eliminated completely.
so maybe the HPFP is not 100% protected from a fault that comes from the LPFP or generally LP system.

Not sure how to diagnose this though without having to replace the HPFP, which is clearly a expensive option.

well not that expensive, LPFP is around 200 pounds and HPFP is 300 pounds.

What is involved in fitting the HPFP? timewise and difficulty?

So I just stripped the FPS off again and refitted to make sure it was in tight as I think this is where the fuel leak was coming from.

As is normal with it just now it will start with the sensor disconnected and when connected will run but not right, Showing code P0087 Fuel Rail/System pressure Too low, will clear with engine off but not running which means when switching off and clearing it will not start again without going through the same process of disconnecting the sensor to start it and then connecting it when running.

The pressure is around 9300 KPA when started cold but drops to around 8000 KPA when warms up.

Is this looking like the HPFP has failed??? Or could it be a faulty FP Rail???

If it is the HPFP, how difficult is it to replace the HPFP?

Can you post here the entire live values available to you? Until I can have a look at that, is there any possibility of a damaged connector to the FRPS? The possibility of the HPFP packing up as you were replacing the LPFP is possible, but about as likely as LR offering you a new engine for free!!

I would keep it in the back of my mind for now as this series of issues only emerged after work began on the vehicle. So I'm afraid I'm still in the "something did not go back right camp" until I see evidence to the contrary. Put up as many live values as you can find and lets see where it takes us!

I will get this done later today, this new code showing Low fuel pressure is the only thing that Is making me think change the HPFP, there was one just listed for £55 which if I order b4 2pm I will get tomorrow.

Is it a major job to fit a HPFP would you know PROFSR G?
