Just interested....I know there's the obvious cosmetic stuff,and things like brake discs diameter etc but it got me wondering what else ?
For example,are the suspension arms and bush designs the same (and the same material for that matter)and can we expect wear-and tear rates to be similar at similar mileages?
Are D3 and D4 wheel bearings the same design ?
Just asking because I'm trying to convince a friend to get a D4 next.....sadly he had a pretty poor experience of D3 ownership and will take some convincing,but I'd hate to see him in an X5/ML etc
Every horror story on here,he seems to have experienced it,other than complete engine failure,so I will need plenty of ammunition "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool,than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Get him to drive one, thats the only way to know the difference. The engine/performance compared to the D3 is night and day as you will know.
If you look at the forums for the other vehicles you see similar stories so its not just LR but they are all bottomless pits for money.
Not quite what you need but ....

I have had two D4;s MY10 and a MY12 both very good cars but the 10 was far better than my old D3 and the MY12 id even better than the 10, get him to drive one and he will sign on the dotted line. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
