Central locking door switch diagnosis |
|
The interior door switches for the central locking haven't worked since we bought the (ex Police) 2011 D4 a couple of years ago, it works fine using the key. I finally got around to trying to fix the issue this weekend with, it's fair to say, very limited succcess!
Door card off, starting with the switches themselves, per the wiring diagram I believe the switch controls the green connector (C3560 per the attached diagrams). Am I correct that, if everything else is working, shorting pin 1 or 2 to pin 5 should lock/unlock the vehicle? It doesn't, but I also noticed there is only 9v at pins 1 and 2. Tracing the wires to the left side of the wiring diagram, these are connected directly to the battery and so surely i should be seeing 12v?
Can anyone let me know if I am on the right track, or is there a better way to diagnose these switches?

Central locking door switch diagnosis - follow up question |
|
Following up on the above post, given that I wasn't exactly inundated with responses.....
I ran a diagnostic (should have done this first of course) and it gave me the following -
LANDROVER_EN_TEST_00006>VIN Identify>Auto Scan>BCM (Body control module)>Read Fault Code:
Total Number : 3
U025D-00 1/3 State: Permanent Lost communication with front controls interface module B
B1C37-23 2/3 State: Permanent Master lock switch
B1C38-23 3/3 State: Permanent Master unlock switch
...which seems to be a clue...
Can anyone tell me what the "front controls interface module B" is? Is it the module on the door card with the two large black connectors? If it is, then i would have the same issue on the passenger side and it seems odd for them both to fail, plus I think that module controls windows and door locks too (?), which all work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's correct, but it would seem odd that both driver and passenger fail and given that everything else on the door works, not my number one candidate. What is this ' front controls interface module B'? Any idea?
