CD error and 550

Some more help please.

On turning the key prior to starting the engine, whilst waiting for the bong, I have just noticed 550 coming up before system check. AND I cannot use the cd player, the display shows cd error, and one of the cd's has gone missing according to the display. I cannot even eject them. Radio appears to be fine. I have a MY 05 S with 6cd system.

Are these 2 connected?

550 Sounds like the service indicator, what's your mileage? The End

2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Zermatt Silver

My CD unit ate all the discs about a year ago. A CD finished playing and whilst swapping over to the next disc, all jammed and it displayed CD error. The entire unit was replaced under warrantee, and the old CD unit had to back to the manufacturers (not LR) to release the discs. The CD's were returned about 1.5 months after the unit was replaced.

Thanks for your replies.

Mileage is just under 28000.

I hope I don't need a new cd as I am now out of warranty.

Do you know who makes the cd player?

I think they are Alpine systems like the RRSport has Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300
