Hi everyone being new to the disco i am still learning. I like having bluetooth in my cars and as far as i can tell my disco hasnt got it. I have the cd 465 in my car. Now the question is should this stereo have bluetooth. I have all the switches on my steering wheel for a phone but my phone cant find the car. Any help would be great.

Hi, I am new to owning a D3, One of the first things i bought was a Gap IID tool, has i had some faults with the car, my phone would not connect to radio, there is a option to up date the radio with this tool, which i did and now my phone connects. Not sure about the radio types.

Bluetooth is via a seperate module which may not be specced in your vehicle even if you have the controls on the steering wheel . The original location for the module was behind the drivers side boot panel . However if you have a diagnostic tool ( gap iid ) you can see it with that . Hope thats helpful. 1996 Defender -died (now in landrover heaven😇)chassis to ashes , rust to dust !

As already mentioned, If you don't have phone buttons on R/H side of the steering wheel then your D3 wasn't fitted with bluetooth at the factory.
Can be retro fitted but lot less agro to fit aftermarket bluetooth kit.
Not so easy to replace the head unit with an aftermarket one with bluetooth because you will lose the use of the satnav/4x4 info screen and also the amp which is under the drivers seat, they are all connected in a (MOST) loop and all communication will will be lost between them. If you do happen to have a bluetooth module fitted then it would also be part of the loop. Stu
