Caravan Site availabilty in France. |
|
I have for many years gone to France with the caravan in May/June and/or September. never any problem turning up at a Campsite and getting a pitch. However we are thinking of going to France in middle of August this year. Have not done this since boys were tiny, some 40 years ago, What are the chance of getting into a campsite without booking in mid/late August?

you might have to try one or 2 places, but my mate always does this - never books, and always gets a decent pitch. His theory is that site always keep some good pitches to attract folks in, and that if you book way in advance, you get a crap pitch.
last year it was very quiet down the Vendee coast, with loads of empty pitches - but with crap weather here and the euro being a better exch rate, it might be busier this year.
Still seems loads of space on the ferries right now.

Shouldn't have a problem unless you frequent the south coast! Sometimes a twin axle can be difficult to place but it's a test of your skills!!! Club Forum Criminal !!!
