Caravan repairs York area.

Been given a van by my parents which is in all round very good condition appart from where there has been a leak around one of the front windows and the wood has gone all soft. I'm wanting to get it replaced and repaired as the rest of the van in very good and had little use.

So if anyone can recommend someone in the York area who does such work please could I have some details to get in touch.

Although you have a decent looking van and kit on offer at a good price I want to spend as little as possible as although both me and the other half went all over with parents as kids we want to make sure that's it's still for us hence a repair to. The free van with all the extras!

Nicest part from me was up the coast from Portree to Staffin and around the top to Uig.

Damp repairs are very labour intensive and hence costly, much better if you can do the work yourself.

If you are fairly useful with DIY skills it's all possible to do, I did one a few years ago and found a wealth of information on the "UKcampsite.co.uk" forum.

If your walls are soft then unfotunately you are going to be in for a shock when some of that wet board is removed but don't despair it can all be replaced and made good, the main problem is having somewhere dry to work on it whilst you find and make good the area where the damp is coming in and then dry it out.

I'm capable of doing the work, served as an apprentice coach builder in York 10 years ago just don't really have the time! I've not paid anything for the van so it's worth a look at getting the work done.
