Yeah Bodsy, that's my van behind my old Landcruiser. I'll sort out some other pics and post them.
Flexibility wise I spose £3k is bottom price with no further barter at that point. That's for you guys on here only as the dealer has also offered the same money as it stands and will stick another £1500 on top to sell on. So if you're interested out there fella's, come on down.FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

TB et al - i have to admit that i store mine on the drive
yes i agree that as soon as the van is gone it openly advertises that we're on holiday.
However security is built up in layers, so my layers are:
Close links with the neighbours, who actively keep an eye out on the house/locality.
Mother in law lives virtually opposite and watches the house for us.
Double glazing all round, with security locks on all.
Active burglar alarm that i built myself, with autodialler if it ever goes off.
CCTV all round, recording to a friends web server, which i can access from my pda.
Wifes best friend is a local Detective in the Solihull cop shop
off big dogs who will tear you apart if you come into the garden (although we take'em with us when we go in the tintent.
but TBH if they wanna get in, they will.
You've just got to make it harder for them to get into yours compared to your neighbours

Thanks for all the advice and tips guys, I have ended up buying a brand new Compass Rambler (Wandahomes up specced version of the Corona), its a single axle 6 berth with the fixed rear bunks.
Took us a fair few weekends to decide, almost went for the twin axle van but were put off by the difficult manhandling and possibility of not being accepted in some caravan sites.
We pick it up mid may, and are currently on the hunt for some ebay bargain awnings etc to suit a 970cm van

I'd also have a trawl round your local caravan retailers they often take 2nd hand awnings in as part ex against new ones.
Try Bradcot or Isabella - well worth the extra few £.
I'd also try A1Awnings (google search will find'em) i brought a porch awning from them at the boat, caravan and outdoor show in Feb - last years model at half price.

I've just read this thread in despair. Not only are a large number of people I considered halfway sane CARAVANNERS but they are all the same age as me!
Surely that can't mean I'm old enough for a caravan? AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

Just had a cracking week away at Longleat. Weather was great and I couldn't imagine a better way of spending a week (well...) . Kids had a great time, and we loved the place.
This is the start of our 4th 'season' as caravanners and we love it. You don't have to be old (I'm 36) but bury the negative impression and you'll be really surprised.

This caravanning malarky must do great things for the love-life as well then............................... the local marina on the west side of Loch Lomond has also just installed completely new birthing facilities on a new pontoon according to the local paper............................... DiscoStu - No jams behind me - went to the Cotswalds this weekend and ended up overtaking loads of cars going up hill - There was an overtaking lane. I cant imagine what they were thinking as they struggled up the hills and suddenly a caravan overtakes them.
What really anoys me is you do get morons trying to overtake you because you are a caravan only to realise they end up going well over the speed limit and you have to let them in - then break hard to avoid anaccident - as you are keeping up with the traffic and need to make them a space.
Also the advantage with a tourer you get to go different places everytime if you want. I have had the Van just over 2 weeks been away 4 times15 3.0 RRS HSE - Silver

mick......superb, I have been told by many how good the D3 is for towing, cant wait to try for myself. Trouble is I will probably forget its there and put it straight through a roundabout
As for the "starter pack", I went in hard with the deal and got lots knocked off the price and they threw in a battery, so I spent the cash saved how I wanted, Ive bought the basics, just need to find that bargain awning!
