Caravan Insurance
Well got the fright of my life, my renewal came in from CCC for our 2yr old tourer ! Its gone up £150 approx since last year ! Cheeky barstewrds . Any other companies to go to? For info van is kept in storage more or less all the time unless going on holiday. Don't bother with an alarm or wheel locks whilst stored so purposefully leave this out of my quotes .

Have always used these guys, small firm and friendly on the phone. Seemed reasonable price but I have never really bothered shopping around as I've been happy with themD4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Checked out Adrianflux last night , will see what they come back with. Over £550 for the year !! Maybe that’s ok but it’s hell of a jump on something that depreciates.

It may depreciate but are you not insured on a "new for old" basis?
Despite you not having any security on the caravan when stored are you sure there is no policy condition stating what must be in place when left?

Yes it’s new for old and I was specific about what security is on my policy. Hitchlock only whilst stored ! Storage site do not allow anyone in the compound and do not fit wheel locks etc. Also alarm a waste of time as it would go off when towed into storage.
Caravan Guard works for us, it’s how they perform in the event a claim you need to consider also, ours went missing on the Monday night, come Friday a new van was waiting at the local dealer for us. I get the renewal every year, it is always cheaper than the CC quote.

Always used compare caravan insurance, kept on drive, new for old, 2018 model and my premium was £230 this year, interestingly it was actually £5 a year cheaper than keeping in a gold secure yard in skeg

well got of the phone yesterday to CCC about my renewal and low and behold the price changed and now £40 less than last year . That will do for me ! Oh and thanks for the compare the market idea . Adrian Flux was next cheapest going through them.

I had a nice surprise through the post with CCC as well premium dropped £65 from last year that is the first time I have ever had a renewal which wasn't showing an increase (car or caravan)
Same as JamesW for me https://www.cover4caravans.co.uk/
When the price went up last year I rang them and asked why and they reduced it to a bit less than the previous year.

My clubcare policy renewal has come through, gone up 46 quid over last year so thought I would have a look araound, tried cover4caravans - one of their stipulations is that even when the 'van is hitched to the car, if parked (and I am not talking about unhitched when on site or not being used) it has to have a wheelcalmp (or alko type) lock fitted (as well as the hitchlocked)- who does that when say, pulled up at the services? - They wouldnt quote as I said I wasnt prepared to do that.
Then tried Caravan Guard - they were more expensive than Clubcare, so I think I will go and see if I can push clubcare for a better price and stick with them

My insurers said I have to put a wheel lock and hitch lock on at the services so I dutifully have been doing - but now you mention it I’ve never noticed anyone else doing it.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten
