When we bought our Bailey Pegasus, we invested in a Protec cover to protect the aluminium front panel from stone damage. At the time, they only made half-height ones to fit the alu-tech bodies, although I see that full-height ones now seem to be available.

It serves its' intended purpose well but is not without issues. Firstly, it's not proof against exhaust smoke (more of a problem with our old DII than the D3) and the nearside corner of the van always seemed to be stained as a consequence. I tried proofing it with Fabsil, but it didn't seem to make much difference. Secondly, when left on in the rain, either towing or static, water gets behind it and collects in the bottom corners where they wrap under the van. I keep meaing to put some drainage holes in but havn't gotten around to it yet Finally, after a couple of years I noticed that it was starting to wear through where it touches the two front locker catches, which has been solved by gluing on some thick vinyl patches on the inside.
Circumstances mean we're unlikely to use the van at all this year, but I'll look into a full height cover for next year.
We've also got the Protec all-over winter cover, which is excellent. It's a very snug fit and, despite the size of the van and bulk of material, is surprisingly easy to fit.Darren

Used the Tow Pro cover for the first time for our Easter trip upto Norfolk and was very impressed - fitted in about two minutes and kept the caravan front clean
Interesting that specialised covers have put the price up by £20 to £199 since I ordered in February - can get £25 discount if anyone is interested - just pm me your email addressD4 2010 HSE Santorini Black

Simon wish I had got my finger out and made time to call and order one as we now have a nice chip about 10mm in dia in the front of the van after Easter holiday to Stonehaven.
Will need to get this repaired and order a cover.

They are worth the piece of mind, even when considering the bad points

Van is a Sprite Quattro FB 2012 - the cover fitted to the top of the front window
As its the tailored one, it had a zip down one side so fits perfectly - it has plastic hooks along the bottom which fix it to the underneath
Don't think I would recommend the universal one which my brother has as it has tightening straps on both sides and takes longer to fit
Took just under 6 weeks from ordering to receipt
Mark sorry to hear about the damage

Do the covers just slot into the awning rails then? They look tricky to put on.
Could have done with after the trip the other day! after 2 mins the van was covered in the mud form the site we had been in!Black D4 December 2014

I have a Bailey Pegasus and don't use a towing cover.
The front end picks up S of course, but I haven't noticed any chips in the paintwork.

Been towing for 15+ years without any covers and not seen any notable damage - maybe just lucky but I wouldn't bother tbh. More faff that I can live without .
I thought about it to keep the front windows clean as I wash them on arrival to keep SWMBO happy but if you need to wash them before fitting the cover then that's no benefit either.
