Caravan Fridge Gas Query

Calling out to the collective knowledge here...

I've got the fridge out in the caravan at the moment, replacing a failed 240v element (and also the 12v one whilst I'm there which is on its last legs). This bit is all fine. I'm also taking the opportunity to clean out the gas burner unit whilst I'm there.

My question is - after disconnecting the gas, on the fridge side, there appears to be a cotton wool type plug in the end of the connector. Is this normal and to be left in place, or should I remove it? I assume it may be some kind of filter to stop debris betting to the jet but it looks pretty dense. I've never been able to get the fridge to work on gas to date. Anyone seen this before?

I didn't know this, but did a bit of net searching (I'm at work so I've got time! Very Happy ).

Looks like it's a filter, intentionally there.

Hope this helps Thumbs Up

It's like a cigarette filter Laughing

Nice one Richard - I agree, it's a Dometic fridge too so that looks like it 'should' be there. Thumbs Up

We have the truma (I think) fridge in ours. I got is working on gas last week. Just have to push and hold the knob in for 10plus seconds. Then fire the Pizo twice in really quick secession

Good luck 🤞🏿
