Caravan damaged in storage :-(
Someone had a runaway van and it stopped on the front of mine
Will need a complete new front, luckily the other van is company owned and the guy immediately informed the site owners and said they're back on Monday to start sorting it out - completely admitted liability.
Van is going to need a new front, pics to follow but for now some advice please...
What's best way to sort this out? Should I be seeking a new front to be fitted by Swift only (it's a 2008 model Sterling purchased in 2009) or are there reputable repairers in the Kent area I can use? I assume I need to get the van to them to get a repair quotation?

I'd find a local repairer that has a good reputation, it will be completed better than the van was in the first place. I hope it doesn't take too long. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

+1 to Pelyma. It might be worth contacting the Caravan Club and/or the Camping and Caravanning Club to see if they have some accredited local mobile engineers. I have seen some pretty substantial work done by these guys.

Biggest issue with Swift will be waiting for parts - seen items take 6 months to arrive. caravan manufacturers are not like car manufacturers
What do your insurers say - have you spoken to them about where it might need to go?

dubbs I agree with the others re finding a good local repairer. Clearly not as extensive as yours, but I punched a hole in the back panel of our previous van last year and the guy did an absolutely amazing repair job.
He 'plastic welded' the old broken piece back in, filled it and did an awesome job on exactly matching the paint (which he needed to mix by eye) as the van was 6 years old and the company had ceased trading actually the second picture doesn't do justice the unbelievable job he did.

A officially approved dealer will do a good job - we had a new front on our 'van, brill job by the dealer and it only took 2 days.

Make sure you need a replacement panel. They take a long while to be delivered, and refitting often leads to a leak a year or so later.
The cleaver panel repairs are best unless thee is no chance of panel repair. Why not go through your insurance if they have admitted liability, they will make sure the repair is to a standard by a good workshop?
Hope you are back up and running very shortly.Rodey L

I thought a replacement panel to be better than a repair. Fibreglass you're never sure if the panel has been weakened elsewhere, don't fancy a crack or crazing appear a year later when I have no recourse.
Will see what happens tomorrow as they're back at the site and details start passing across.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)
