I think that our migrant worker firends are certainly the way to go - or just hold out until next service

Of course, the true cost of the car wash includes the tax needed to provide public assistance to the non-migrant labour too lazy to get off its to wash your car
Very true NHR. The biggest problem in the West is that the fat workers snooze with full stomachs whilst the Bear or the Dragon starts to waken.......
Where the hell did that come from? Normal service will resume shortly....... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

And when they awaken, I am not sure that they will be very sympathetic the snoozing millions We seem to be entering a period of history when for the first time European civilisation, in the wider sense, might not be the "winner".

The Middle European Car Wash Group at our local Tesco use high pressure power washers to wash the car. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. High pressure washers are OK if you keep them at a distance but this was close up high pressure stuff. Frightening. And there was a queue.

Got one of the 'immigrant' staffed car washes near me that is like an indoor drive-through.
They do change water / soap / cloths etc for each vehicle and have a sprinkler-type rinse unit
about 3 guys per (big) vehicle and even inside door jambs etc cleaned
Pretty good wash but £12 for a D3
Not sure what it would be like if it was REALLY muddy though ...

Hey, you bought it and if you want to put it through a swirlomatic then thats totally up to you, after all it's yours
A D3 will go through a car wash no problem, and they dont just rip bits of bigger cars, they also like to eat smaller ones.
Best solution, IMHO, if you dont like washing it yourself, try the foam over and jetwash brigade. No dirty water sponges being rubbed over the paint and the strong caustic solution they use really gets the muck off.
Maybe I should change my user name to dumb- ??

Yup I know that carwashes are a compromise and they can swirl-up you car something rotton if you use them even occasionally - but in my experience its minimal and an occasional coat of wax with some of those nano-jobbys in it fixes that right enough.
I think I am going to go to plan B and use the migrant work wash opposite the pub:
- They do all the hard work for me without the worry of bits getting ripped-off my D3
- I am supporting people who WANT to work for a living - even at a low wage
- I get to drink beer while I watch them

Just an opinion from another dumb- , but I'd never do it even if it does save you time and/or money. It doesn't just swirl the paint severely but it wears it out and leaves it matt and dull, whilst the job isn't even being done nearly properly.

The polishes, waxes, glosses, sealants work but only begin to mask them - they are still very visible and I'm sure still will be at re-sale time.
