Car rolls into the sea

Found this news article, but thought the comment left by a reader was amusing

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1...cream.html

Readers comment

'Pretty bad they just plonk the car on the roof, thst has probably caused all sorts of structural damage and needlessly written off the car. It may be an old car but second hand car prices are crazy at the moment, and we are in a cost of living crisis. I think she should sue the recovery people (probably men it has to be said) that just plonked her car on its roof without a care in the world'

Surely if it’s gone for a full immersion dip in salt water it’s a write off anyway?

They should bill her personally for the recovery and for the loss of service on the ferry... might be the most expensive ice-cream she's ever eaten Laughing

As it is the Daily Snail Im sure it lists how much the drivers house is worth, if they went to a certain school and probably were calling it a Land Rover as they seem to blame LR Drivers for everything Smile

Trust me they will do. I suspect the insurance may pick up the tab.

I'm not sure they will as it was down to carelessness on the part of the driver, they don't always if you don't secure the vehicle and it gets stolen.
A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

Carelessness will be covered. Recklessness on the other hand …….

Carelessness is forgetting to put the handbrake on. Recklessness is failing to put the handbrake on when you realise before getting out that the car is already rolling, then getting out and walking away to buy an ice cream. Laughing

That's the "suspect" point. If you have an accident as a result of speeding are you being reckless or careless.

Will depends on terms.

Not in her defence but bit daft that the sign warning that handbrake must be applied on the jetty is attached to the ferry and had sailed away!
