Can Video be played from a USB Stick on LR RSE |
|
Just had a Test Drive and wanted to keep 3yr old twins occupied whilst we tried out the vehicle, Demonstrator had RSE but couldnt get it to work from a USB Stick that we had with a Video on from the aftermarket ones we have in Smax.
Had to nip and buy a DVD.
Is this just a case of studying the manual, a modification or something that cant be done??? LR4 2010 HSE LUX

I don't know the answer to the question, but couldn't use just stick any films onto DVD rather than USB? I guess it might be a little while before people get their heads around all the features in the D4 and work out what can and can't be done. D3 HSE MY05 Auto

I investigated briefly the possibility of factory RSE but didn't spec it in the end.
As far as I can remember there is no USB input for the system at all so video directly from a stick is a non starter.
I also think that the RSE plays standard DVD formats only from disc and so doesn't decode DVIX, MP4 formats etc
You can however connect an MP4 player such as a video iPod or similar directly to the system using the appropriate AV cable and the composite video & stereo L/R terminals which are provided for the RSE system and located down by the rear seat 12V supply/ashtray/heated set buttons.
