how can i lock out my fbh

After a few weeks of wondering why my fbh was'nt working it turned ou that it had somehow been locked out. I had it unlocked and it has been working happily since, what i have found is that if you use the vehicle for short journeys it eats the fuel. iwould now like to lock it back out as the difference is quite significant and i have'nt noticed that much difference with it working to justify the extra fuel consumption is there a way of doing this without having to pay to put it on the computer again.

Look up this guy................

Faultmate armed and may be able to help you.

Bear in mind though that the TDV6 runs so efficient it needs the FBH to maintain correct running temperatures, turning off the FBH will result in additional engine wear.

I don't think the FBH would entirely to blame for increased fuel consumption, and I wouldn't recommend it, but you could pull the fuse to it if it's really what you want to do.

alright martin i noticed a significant difference in fuel from the first day i had the fbh working.if i pull the fuse and put it back in would it not reset itself,i did read somwhere that if the ignition is cycled three times without the fbh igniting it locks it out ,i supposeif i pull fuse and then do this and replace it that may work .

I meant pull the fuse and leave out, so there's no power to the FBH. This will probably cause some fault codes to be stored, which will require clearing before it will operate again.
