Swapping the trim between 2 cars sounds like a lot of faff where he can't be making much profit.
Check your paperwork is sound ... it's a lot easier to swap number plates..

We thought it was a bit too much effort too.
Gahhh don't say that, it all seems to check out on the car check that I did and on the log book etc.

Hi all,
Just spoken to Citizens advice
I have a few options
Reject outright with the 14 days
Repair or replacement
Reject within 30 days if I can provide evidence it is faulty ( I videoed the car on the motorway yesterday)
They are a business as selling other vehicles, and put business address on the invoice.
Consumer rights act states car should be free of faults and last a reasonable amount of time.
They have also asked that I inform Trading Standards.
You are all amazing 😇

What do we buy any car say its worth?
This may be a way out of this with the minimum amount of fuss and the least financial loss.

Hi all,
Gave him a call (he comes across as a really nice guy, which makes it hard to get snotty) he's adamant the sale was private. He bought it out of his private money, He just used the business address as that is where his traders insurance is registered. So I'm going to have a think on that and I informed him that I will be sending him a letter via recorded delivery if necessary.
HOWEVER on the upside, I sent an email to the UK managing director of Landrover yesterday morning regarding the Po17 recall issue and the shambles of customer service and the dealerships and his assistant called me today, to see what they can do through Goodwill to rectify the issue. He's going to call me back by Wednesday. So I will definitely keep you posted on that. I was only able to write the letter because of the abundance of info on this site😊
At 11:07 am this morning 25th Jan 2021 you wrote that you had spoken to Citizens' Advice and they said you had three options:-

I think you would be foolish, very foolish, to spend any money on this car, or do anything other than reject it without delay, assuming you are still in the 14 day period.
Good luck.
