How can the FBH be tested in warm temps ? |
|
Is there any way that the fuel burning heater can be user tested without taking it to the stealers/webasto specialist ?
Cheers.

Put Ice cubes around the sensor I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Tim - the FFBH is controlled ultimately by the ATCM.
Taken from GTR - "The ATCM cancels supplementary heating if the ambient temperature increases to 5 °C (41 °F), the engine coolant temperature increases to 75 °C (167 °F), or the engine stops.
" therefore if you suspect that your FFBH is faulty (it's not been that cold recently ) then you can find the ambient temperature sensor just in front of the radiator behind the grill.
Otherwise try 10frocash - who can come and read the DTC's and tell you what your problem might be.

You can buy a tin of aerosol freezer cheaply from Maplins or RS etc.
Give the ambient temp sensor a quick squirt, its easier than ice cubes. .

You should never argue with idiots because they will just drag you down to their level....then beat you with experience !
