can you alter terrain response
I have ordered a new disco and was wondering wether the ride height speed limit of 40 kmph (where it drops the fully raised height down to 185mm) could be overriden as it doesnt suit some of our roads in Australia. some roads are long and straight and can be driven on at speed but develop deep channels and a high crest in the middle which is cleared easily in my brothers cruiser(210mm ground clearance) but in the test disco i drove would drop from240mm to 185mm and frequently bottom out. it may have been asked about before but after many many hours looking i gave up and after reading about remapping the engine etc decided to post. any ideas would be appreciated

Turbo chip was working on getting the cars to lower like they do at 100mph so presumably it is a similar system. I would guess it will all be down to a good sized market to make the effort worthwhile.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

There is no way I know of of overriding the height speed limit. If you don't find any other solution and really need the feature, you might want to investigate the third party mod that I described in the thread 'Disco tunes in Germany' http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.ph...suspension .
The German company Matzker, www.matzker.de (site only in German), offers a kit with which the car is raised by 26mm (ca. 275 mm ground clearance, depending on tyres). Raised it can do up to 100 kms/hr. Costs €1585 (+ installation, I think). At least it shows that it can be done!

damn, just what I'm looking for, but WAY too expensive for me...

If Turbochip thinks it is possible to ECU mod the suspension why not e-mail him?

will do. i think terrain response is callibrated more towards europe and north america and not Australias conditions. I will keep looking and if I find anything will post it.

Indeed, Land Rover went to a great deal of effort to show how stable the LR3 was at speed and how reluctant it was to do the 'SUV roll-over' trick. I'm sure the car is set the current way due to a balance of legal risk vs off-road capability.
Europe joined in with the 'Elk' test and even Audi got caught out with the bad press regarding the original Audi TT when driven at extreme speeds.
