Campsite / caravan / hotel / accommodation in Stirling |
|
Ok .. Longshot but I'm trying to locate some sort of accommodation in Stirling ( Scotland ) for the end of the month .
Unfortunately it's the Ryder cup that weekend ... I'm not interested in the Golf , but a couple of friends from Ireland are comming over to watch it , and it's his 40th birthday
Thought I'd found a campsite , but turns out that's now fully booked .
Just wanted to have a night out with them while there over .. But as you can expect everything has gone stupid prices . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

If you're not too bothered about being in Stirling, try googling Gartmore Camping. It should bring up 3 in and around Aberfoyle, Gartmore & Thornhill. Although not in Stirling they're only a few miles out (19 at most) in the Trossachs national park. Dining out can be had in Aberfoyle, Gartmore etc. lots to do & see in the area.

The Woods caravan site just outside Alloa has nice views and only 10 mins from Stirling. Been ages since I was there but thought they'd been given permission to add static caravans.

Blair Drummond has no vacancies.
We are involved with the Ryder Cup, the Travelodge as poor as they are were wanting £199.99 a night at Perth for that week, that was in January, Stirling was already fully booked then. I do know that for the week it's on companies involved are hiring Winnebagos and being provided parking in the field next door as Hotels nearby are full. Two months ago 6 Berth Winnebago for three nights with tickets for the practise days was just under 8k, with tickets for the actual event was 14k. I know of one company that have a Winnebago on site for Staff, because of the hours they are working it's not practical to have an Hotel, they also booked rooms at Hotels in Edinburgh, that was in March, they have now decided to fly guests in for the day, it's cheaper.

Although not a campsite I stayed at this B and B earlier this year. It's within striking distance of Stirling (35 mins says Google maps). They may be able to help. http://www.braeside-drymen.co.uk SAAB 9-3 Convertible (bought before they all disappear)
D3 TDV6 HSE 2007 Black with Alpaca interior (gone and much missed)
Uncle Ray Wheel Protector (best accessory ever bought bar none)
SAAB 9-3 Sportwagon (daily driver)
Ford Galaxy (traded in for Discovery, less said about this car the better)
Saab 900 Green 5 door (gone missed)
SAAB 900 Black 3 door (gone missed)

Cycling?
It's 24 miles or so, what are you driving, a tractor or a Series Land Rover?
