So do you put ordinary charcoal in or what?
Doesnt it fall out when its closed warming up or do you have to buy special fuel and lighters etc?

Yep ordinary charcoal,a bit of lighter fluid and or paper and firelighters etc, anything that burns and yes all the coals are held in by the grills when you fold it up.

Hmm had a look and like the idea but still the babyQ weber seems to be looking good...
I do like the idea or cooking over charcoal though..

are you after something to generaly cook with, boil a kettle, or bbq..... or all 3.
We have a small cadac for general cooking, use a couple of jetboils for tea etc and then was looking at a small firepit (foldable) for after dark and Barbys...Duncan

My vote goes to the cadac carry chef. It is rather heavy but for the caravan it does quite well.
I originally bought the whole stack of accessories but none of them did all iof it. I then bought the paella thing which is basically a flat bottom pan with about a 2 inch rim so it lets you put in fluids (sauche and all). And now i only take the base and the paella pan with me and leave the rest of the stack at home.
As mentioned earlier, you will not find any camping sites in France where cooking on charcoal is allowed... If you are planning on going there, go for a gas burner.
