Camp Bed Suggestions needed pls

Since buying the D3 we have opted to camp with the kids in the south of france in the summer for a couple of weeks. We have previously used air beds which have been fine but they did get cold and went down after a couple of days. Also my son using them as a trampoline / landing mat every minute didnt help Laughing

Hence keen if anyone can offer some suggestions in regards to a good camping bed ? Needs to fold up and we are not bothered about weight as they will go in the boot rather than in the roof box. (kids will continue to use air beds) We dont want to spend too much but some of the ones I have seen at Go Outdoors seems flimsy / uncomfortable.

Any thoughts and thanks for any help James

King goanna all the way me thinks. Went to go outdoors and they were all too small. I am not particularly big but the widest they had is 60 cm and it wasnt comfortable at all. Once again appreciate the suggestions and will look at getting one in the summer . james

We have the Goanna and King Goanna stretchers in stock. These are the only stretchers/campbeds I know that are rated at 150kg.

In spring 2013 we should have in stock the Gecko Stretcher. The Gecko stretcher is size wise between the Goanna and the King Goanna stretchers

Basic dimensions are:

Goanna Stretcher
Packed Size: 96cm x 20cm x 13.5cm (approx)
Size Erected: 190cm(L) x 60cm(W) x 40cm(H)

Gecko Stretcher
Packed Size: 105cm x 20cm x 13.5cm (approx)
Size Erected: 190cm(L) x 80cm(W) x 50cm(H)

King Goanna Stretcher
Weight: 12kg
Packed Size: 105cm x 20cm x 13.5cm (approx)
Size Erected: 210cm(L) x 80cm(W) x 50cm(H)

Care has to be take over the number and orientation of campbeds in tents.

I use a gelert adventure XL 10cm self-inflating mattress... Sleep really well on that.

Never tried a camped but then it'd take up too much space I reckon ( in our pop-up 4.1 special from Decathlon anyway!!)

I've used my king sized bed on hiking or camping visits and love it. Every morning the other folks in hiking awaken saying how awful they rested. I have always had a good sleep.

I have just purchased two fishing / bed chairs for our camping / caravanning as we have struggled with teh standard aluminium camping beds
Talk about chalk and cheese

Any good brand with 6 or 8 legs recommended, not too cheap but how much is a good noghts sleep worth

I got each bed for £65, and they were the top spec 8 leg wide executive memory mattress type beds designed for all night fishermen

heres the example on ebay of what i bought

When caravanning I sleep in the awning on an Aerobed air bed.

I use the Active Outdoor Raised model which is very very comfy. Been using it for about 4 yrs sleeping on hardstanding with just the awning groundsheet underneath, never had a puncture and stays inflated all night. Easy to inflate.deflate with the supplied pump. Recommended.

You can buy direct from Aerobed where they sometimes have price reductions. I bought an additional single airbed from them for £30 last year, reduced from £99.
