I bought a set of calliper sliding pins with bolts from eBay but when I went to fit them I realised that instead of 13mm bolt heads they were 12mm.
I decided not to fit them because I wasn't sure they would be right. I was only changing them because I had it all in bits to change the discs and thought why not so I refitted the ones that were on there.
Would the 12mm bolts be OK or are they wrong?

Personally, I would be fitting only genuine LR or guaranteed oem parts to my brakes. Ebay has all sorts of fake and moody stuff on it, also some good items on there, but better safe than sorry.

You cant go by the spanner size used to undo a bolt, its the size of the bolt itself that matters, which in this case is M8 and lots of M8 bolts have a 12mm head instead of the usual 13mm.
The old pins/bolts will be fine as Im sure would the new stuff, the main thing to remember is dont use copaslip on the slider pins.

Thanks guys.
I'll keep the new ones with the smaller heads and fit them if I get a seized one.
I actually fitted the new ones with the grease that came in the package before realising the head size was different. I then used the same grease when I put the old ones back in, so no copaslip and a bit of medium thread lock on the bolts.

I thought copaslip was the grease to use on brake componants to avoid seizure/pad squeal. What is wrong with it please.

Copaslip is an anti seize and not a lube, so yes its fine on the back of pads etc for anti squeal etc.
I have to confess I to used it for years on the sliders etc.
Where I used to work the van guys used copaslip on the calliper slides, within a year they were having loads of tight caliper issues/brakes overheating, in the end the lease hire company sent out a memo no copaslip to be used on moving parts or warranty will be refused.
I just use a little std grease on all my brakes incl pad backs/ends and sliders, touch wood been fine for years now, I do pull them apart annually for a check and lube.
Some sliders have small o-rings fitted so whatever grease is used has to be rubber friendly.
