A/C Help needed
So after may parts replaced( 2 AC compressors, expansion valve, condenser, pressure sensor) the AC in the LR3 is still not working. I ended up buying the IID Tool BT and updating the BCM and other control modules that are available with the IID Tool of course after clearing the codes. After completed the air conditioner started working, however it doesn't last long about 100 miles later and it throws code U-0424-68 then the AC shuts off. There are no other codes present. First picture is of the system working, second of the code, and third of ac not working. This seems to be an electircal issue and looking for suggestions.
Thank you,
2005 LR3

After clearing the code and sitting for an hour it started working. Here is another view of it working just a minute ago. I checked the low side pressure (45psi). Anything else electrical that controls the AC?

I looked at mine the last month before I took it to be regassed.
I was having no problems, and just looked at it for interest.
It might not help but,
Before regassing.
And after the regass.

Tayaste thank you for sharing your info. seems like my pressures are much higher than yours. Wonder if my system is over charged and thus why it is turning off. I do have rear AC, Tayaste do you have rear AC?

No rear air con, pgoodrich.
Maybe someone with rear aircon might be able to share

Is 124 degrees f not a little high for outside ambient air temp You're not afraid of the dark are you ?

Yes it is a little high but it was very hot earlier maybe 110 so with it sitting in the sun that's not too bad I don't think

My compressor current does not fluctuate either 242 or 0 amp. Is this normal?

Anyone got any suggestions. Today I found that P-0116-24 (74) was a pending code. My temp never exceeded 205 degrees F. Also I notice that when my AC doesn't work at idle it runs higher rpm 1300, but when it works it is around 8-900.
If anyone else has IID tool it would be great to see or hear from you about your live values with regards to HVAC.

Maybe the rpms are high at idle as the ecu thinks the a/c is running so is fuelling for such a load, but as no load is applied the rpms rise?
Ie when the a/c is working the load is applied and the rpms run as normal.
Have you got the rear a/c to mimic the front set up?
Just an idea.

Are you sure the AC has a fault?
As the AC can work I suggest looking at input signals from the engine first. For example, 95 deg C (203 deg F) is a reasonably high coolant temp for a vehicle at idle that has been off for an hour.
Running live data logs to capture the conditions when it shuts off will help enormously.

Hi,
Had this issue on my 2001 BMW 540i, same engine, so maybe similar.
It was a combination of 2 things, one being the electric Aux fan which I am not sure the Disco has?
Two, being the main problem which was the viscous coupling. Engine never showed any temp issues but would shut down the aircon when it got hot in traffic to save the engine.
New viscous, all sorted.
Ian.

Are those amp readings correct?

Here is the live data graph. Started with AC off and around 4 seconds turned on. The fan speed slowed down when the AC turned on. During this live data the ac was not functioning. Is there a problem with the amp readings, what should they be? Also what speed should the fan speed be at when ac is on and off. It dropped when ac turned on.
