Which buffer for polishing please ?
I need an electric polisher/buffer thingy, I have trouble with my shoulders so can't do it manually. Do I need one which goes back and forth, or one which just goes around. Any reccomendations please.
Also which polish to go with it.1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

If you’re not an experienced Detailer then a DA (dual action) polisher is your best bet. Something like the DAS-6 Pro (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-v2-dual-action-polisher/das-6-v2-dual-action-polisher/prod_519.html) which I have and is great to use. There are loads of polishers and also loads of pads to use with the machines. The trick is to figure out which strength of pad to use with your preferred compound or polish to get the cutting strength to remove the swirls/scratches you have in the clear coat. I have a selection of 3 strengths, but to make it simpler for you I’ve just had great success with an Orange Hex Logic and Meguiars Ultimate Compound on the LR Discovery 4 (2012) paint. Not overly heavy cutting strength but removes a lot of swirls without any holograms in one pass. I had to do a couple of passes in some areas to get a better finish. Have a look at clean your car co uk or similar websites for a good selection of pads and polishes. I’m considering trying some of the Sonax polish as I’ve heard good stuff http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/car-polish-c..._1382.html
Hope this helps.RLD CB Bracket

This is the pad I’ve just used last weekend with good results. My car was heavily swirled on the paint work.

Another polish/compound to look at/consider is the Scholl Black (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/car-polish-compounds/scholl-s20-black-1-step-compound/prod_1548.html). I’ve heard good stuff on a few detailing forums about this and depending on the strength of pad you use can cover anything from deep swirls/scratches through to hazing/hologram removal. If you’ve not done detailing before I’d be careful using this one with a heavy cutting pad first time out, maybe try doing one pass on a lighter pad and see if it gives you the results you want. Just to be on the safe side.... 😉RLD CB Bracket

Agreed with the DAS6. But for a first time I'd stick with the DAS6 rather than the Pro.
Also check out Auto finesse, they do a complete kit in a box. Easy to use and great results.
