Broken Door

Hi All,

One of the many prob's on my new to me D3 is an inoperable rear passenger door.
It does not open from the inside or the outside, so 3 questions.
1) Does anyone know of a You-Tube video that shows one being opened please, that is'n't a tailgate.
2) Is there any obvious places to check for failure.
3) In the absence of an answer to q's 1 + 2, does anyone know how to remove a rear door card that doesn't involve a Estwing hammer/sledge hammer/nail bar/petrol saw/angle grinder. Soft preservative approach, if i butcher another green oval Mrs Mambo will butcher Mini Mambo Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Thank you

can you roll that door window glass up and down

does the lock knob make locking sound when pushed in or out?

sound like typical actuator failure so just a matter of getting to it

if you have no reaction i would guess worth checking door related harness in B pillar

to remove the door card in situ might be very hard unless you remove that side seat/s than card should be able to be removed judging by door opening cavity

try pulling on unlock knob on the door while pushing unlock button on the key fob same time might work in those situations

Hi Greg,

Yes to the window, it is fully operational.
I have tried pulling the internal handle at the same time as the lock and whilst pressing the fob unlock button. Both internally and externally.
I have a suspicion the problem is inside the door itself, albeit electrical or mechanical.
To be honest, i hadn't thought about removing the seat, I will have a closer look tonight, but I have a horrible feeling this will end in the use of a nail bar and a replacement door card before Mrs Mambo see's it Whistle Whistle

I'll have a look if i can remover the handle trim internally tonight, knowing my look its probably a loose cable.

Thank you.

if you tried all that got to be actuator issue than

D3 card is held in place by 7 screws if remember correct all should be accessible when seat is out and floor / carpet should give you enough space to at least separate it slightly and pull it up to remove completely to get to internals

last time i had similar issue it was dust mixed with grease on the actuator cable after long off-roading in Spain with opened windows but in my case it would not lock at all lol

good luck
G
