Bristol Independant Dealer?
Hi Guys,
I have a suspension fault with my 2005 HSE, and as I've only had the car 2 months I have an aftermarket warranty with Auto-Direct. The car is currently sitting low on the rear passenger side corner by about 1" in all ride height positions - so I think it's a dodgy height sensor/callibration. Problem is that the warranty only covers me for £65 per hour labour (plus VAT), and Guy Salmon Land Rover in Bristol want £102+VAT and can't book it in until late April - leaving me driving a wonky Disco for a month and personally liable for difference in labour rates.
The warranty guys have suggested I find a local independant garage who will be able to put the car in tight tolerance mode and replace/re-calibrate the sensors.
So does anyone know of a good local 'indy' who can help me out? I'm based in Bristol, so somewhere in the South West would be great.

he's a site member or i have PM'd you his telephone number TLO has left the building.......
I no longer work for a Landrover Dealer

I have used Steve Hill in Brislington.
he knows his stuff ( and has computers ) but be clear what you want and the cost.
i had a warranty job done there and he wanted to charge me extras ( for more time taken) for removing AC compressor as the bolts were seized due to MUD. WTF?????
Anyway he is a nice bloke apart from that.
Good luck

Just got back from T&S Normans...
Steve managed to fix the suspension, deal with the warranty company and do a couple of extra jobs like my blocked front axle breather - all in about an hour! And if I hadn't had the warranty cover it still would have cost me less than what Guy Salmon Bristol quoted for diagnostics alone.
So thanks to Nick and Methley for the recommendation, and to Steve - the Disco feels great now it's sitting level, and I'll definately be using T&S Norman in the future.
Cheers

Just a quick note to voice my recommendation for Steve Hill of Bristol. I bought a D3 online and took it to him for an inspection a couple of days ago. To say he was thorough is an understatement. Service was efficient and courteous and the price was sensible.
