Brisbane Ekka day trip

Anybody interested in a day trip for Ekka day (Wed 15th August)?

I'm thinking the Mt. Mee trip from the dirty weekends book. Should be interesting in places but safe for shiny vehicles.

I'm open to other suggestions for routes as well. Half day? Full day? Visit a 4wd park?

Cheers, Steve

Did a recce on Sunday. The track is very dry & dusty. Looks like a number of people have been stuck in places as there is some wheelspin erosion. D3 walked up it all with only minor wheelspin, so I'm not sure if the wheel marks were left last time it rained or my some one with a very heavy right boot. Should be an interesting trip.

Any takers? If we meet up at 8 we would be back in Brisbane mid-afternoon.

Cheers, Steve

Replying to my own posts again...

We now have two D3s, a D2, a Prado and possibly a Hilux. I'll bring my snatch strap...

Anybody else?

On me own? There are 5 vehicles and I expect they will all have at least one person in them.

Steve

PS Don't they say that SA is proof that Tasmanians can swim?

That's OK, there is life outside this forum.

I'd probably take offense if someone linked me with Tasmanians as well.

Australia 2006 Discovery 3 4.0 V6 Petrol SE Auto Buckingham BlueDiscovery 3

I would love to do this trip tomorrow but we have had a death in the family and I want to spend the day with family members. (Funeral on Thursday)

However.. if you want to do it again on another day.. then I'd love to be part of it.

Cheers

Here is a quick vid of some of the action.

This was on a side track, so it was entirely optional.

Yeah, it was pretty wet in places. When we drove through the river beds the dust was a slightly darker shade of beige!
