It's about 5% up on 9 months ago! Wink

Is that where it slightly recovered from the brexit freefall ....even now I think you have to go back to 1985 to find it any lower.

What he certainly didn't say was:
'it could be 50 years before we see the benefit of brexit'

But it's implied in the context of the interview ...he was tempering expectation in those sentences ...mainly because he knows it's all going to go to a bag of Censored . Even his own company is betting on that.

JRM isn't bothered how long it takes the UK to come good after Brexit - his firm doesn't invest in the UK, it's all "emerging markets" for them. Or maybe JRM wants the UK to flop so it becomes an emerging market ripe for him to profit from...

The UK must be a GIGANTIC economy to make such a difference! Wink

You appear to be more concerned with the accuracy of post- Referendum data, compared to the pre-Referendum figures used by the Leave campaign.

If they had seen on the side of the bus:
"We send the EU £234 million a week. Let's fund the NHS instead"

Would they have thought.
'No, you're not getting my vote. Only if it were £350 million a week would I vote for it'

What does it matter that there's only a 33% inaccuracy. Whistle Smile

The UK has a good "Trade Deal" with the EU, but voted to Leave it. IMO, it's a bit naive to believe that the UK will get a replacement deal that's as good. I hope I'm wrong!

On Bloomberg today Raab announced that that UK wouldn't honor the £39B divorce bill in the event of a hard brexit. I guess nobody read Dale Carnegie’s how to win friends and influence people.

That will ensure that we're looked upon favourably for any future trade deals. Thud

All of that is posturing at this time, of course, but countries usually need to honor their obligations.

While a bit different, my favorite story is the one of Argentina and bonds they defaulted on. A hedge fund (Elliott) seized some international assets, including a naval ship. A nice write up can be found here https://www.newyorker.com/business/currenc...nding-debt Thumbs Up and a good write up on the bonds themselves at https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/20...orst-bonds

No the withdrawal agreement is already signed and in place before trade could be discussed. Bringing it back to the table now is a demonstration of how poor a choice Raab is.

Oh and he is one of the leading lying parties of Leave that broke the law. He should be in jail.

I’m just quoting the EU. Item 5 page 1. https://ec.europa.eu/commission/sites/beta...report.pdf

“Under the caveat that nothing is agreed until everything is agreed”. Interesting then to see what the definition of “nothing” is. Thumbs Up
