Old TV documentary why to leave EU. Inspiring.

Maybe some of you may regret voting for BREXIT, I think a lot more people in the Netherlands , [ percentage, were not that many..] ,
would be in favour to get out, in particular after this clear show of evidence.. But we're stuck with EU-enslaved politicians aiming to fother from the through.. Embarassed

Read the book “The People vs Democracy”. It’s apposite, addressing questions such as how the internet changed the nature of mass communication, how populists appeal to voters and how they consolidate their power, how Western liberal democracy is “deconsolidating”, and how we might be facing a choice between rights without democracy (the EU, in caricature) and democracy without rights (the “Will of the People”, in caricature).

http://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674976825

The diagnosis is thought provoking. The prescription for the cure is weak, but it’s a very difficult problem.

No need to fret, UK. Jeremy and friends will bring change. Neutral

(I say EU in caricature because the EU does have democratic constructs but, being supra-national, they appeal little where the demos is used to national self-determination. This and the conduct of the European Commission amongst other reasons is why the EU should treat very seriously criticisms of its “democratic deficit”. However, unrestricted national self-determination is not compatible with the global trading vision the Brexiters espouse, which is why I voted Remain. It’s a messy business.)

I don't think they ever can function. You need staff and those need homes. Exclamation
There are NO vacant homes around Amsterdam, they are all inhabited and
the few homes that are for sale are either hidiously overpriced or not
suitable to life for a family. Expect this to get worse the next 5 years as
only building new homes in large numbers can change this situation... Whistle

I prefer to keep track of what's on today as to 'take shelter' in living in the past.

Problem is the whole western world is turning into a totalitarian state on national and EU level.
Due to 'Schengen' I have to carry an ID at all times, which I can't get used to.

If I have my phone on me, they can track where I am at all times, unless I switch the location service off,
probably they have a backdoor to that to.

Your agenda is copied by google as are your contacts, so they can backtrack you also.

Soon they will oblige you by law to carry a chip in your body [ like if you are livestock...],
so they can do away with licenses and ID as this is 'more modern'. Then we are really
screwed. We are then all like convicted fellons carrying an ankle bracelet..

If you don’t want to be tracked, leave your phone at home, don’t drive your car anywhere, don’t use bank cards to pay for anything, etc.

Location services regulate how you and your friends and the likes of Google can see where your phone is. The GSM network operator has always known where your phone is - clever maths to decide which mast handles your call sees to that. What the telco knows, the police and other authorities can know. Big Brother, and all that. Wink

I'm lucky to be seen by one mobile mast where I am, so 'they' can sometimes see where I am in about a 10 mile circle...when I remember to charge my phone!
