I would be interested to know, as I dont intend to use the dealer to service my 'new' 05 discovery.
Years ago I got a recall from Ford for an escort van I owned (I was about the 4th owner) not sure how they tracked me down as I did all my own servicing, but it was a brake vacuum pump recall. Local dealer fixed it.
Will something similar happen, will the manufacturer eventually track me down?

Probably not, my local dealer were surprised I had just walked in and booked my car in for the recall after hearing a "rumour" 2014 D4 XS

I took my car in to Centurion LR on Thursday 2 December after a frightning experience with another car the morning. Brakes are hard and takes great effort to stop the car.
In May 2010 I complained about this [felt it when off roading] but was told by Cent LR that the recall was done on my car earlier. Surely, it is out of warrantee now, and was told on Thursday that there are fluid in the booster - Car is going in tomorrow, but I have to pay the bill... R3,800 [about 350 Pounds]... Refuse to pay. Safety issue, recall covers this. Repair and repalcement of all parts must be done in accordance with recall. They may have stuffed up the recall by not checking for oil in booster when pipes were put on. There are extra pipes next to the spare battery box?
You have the recall details here no matter what they say they must repair FOC.

I would think SA have something similar to VOSA. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Is this brake vacuum pipe issue a true L/R recall then? I've not had a recall notice for my 54 plater
On speaking to the stealer, I'm told it is a service modification item that is urgent ie I foot the bill not L/R which seems a bit much . The PO17 notice earlier in the thread reads like L/R will pay or am I mistaken
Also I have another outstanding mod -QO45 whatever that is...? Richard

Check out Martin's link to the .pdf recall doc on page 1 of the thread. It's definitely recall work and my dealer did it no questions asked and nothing to pay.

I did pay the bill yesterday, did not want to make a fuss there. I've written a letter to LR South Africa to see what they say.
The booster kit and labour was 300 pounds

Mine went in today for the recall action. Clearly stated on the job card I was given that it's FOC.
My only gripe is that the dealer wants to keep the car for "at least 2 days". Is it really that big of a job? I'm not too keen on spending the weekend without the car.

Mine has gone in today, when I originally called local dealer they did not know about the extension to the vin numbers. They checked with landrover and all will be done today free of charge. With a complimentary "health check" too. Let hope they find nothing to do
