Brake Pad thickness

Good morning everyone I`m hoping somebody can help me with a little technical question I have. At what wear depth would a front Brake pad sensor signal a change is required ? This is a precise bit of info I need as it`s needed in a court case.

I dont know the precise "official" limit but having taken my pads off yesterday I would say the sensore would get activated at about 2mm

This would suggest approximatly 2.5mm

the sensors are only on two of the 8 pads. The front left inner and the rear right inner. It is quite feasible for the Left rear or front right pads to be down to the metal and the warning wont go off. Thats why i have discconected mine and check visually every month. Duncan

I'm with Dunc on this - relying on the sensor is, IMHO, not a good idea as not all pads are monitored.

A visual check once a month is much better. I see no ships........

Thanks chaps, I wont go into it at this stage but when they were changed I did have a look at the old pads and they were evenly worn. Its just a case of a so called Landrover specialist ripping people off and leaving vehicles in a dangerous state. Once this is all sorted I will gladly post the detail of said Specialist on here for all to see if thats ok with the Mods.
