Brake pad replacement

My D3 has completed 34k and needs new brake pads. Advice would be helpful on 1) is it a straight forward job or special tools requied 2)where is the best place to buy replacement pads 3) do the pad wear sensors have to be replaced with the pads. Any assistance welcome. Thanks
