Hi all; am about to undertake DIY brake pad change and have been quoted £132.00 for genuine L/R front and rear pad sets, shims, bolts and sensor leads. This is on a D3 2.7TDV6 on a 57 plate that I have had just a couple of months; does this price seem reasonable or should I look elsewhere please?

Can't say for lR parts, but non LR parts such as 'red stuff' or 'green stuff' go for far less on ebay - if you search for genuine pad change and kit you should save a bit ?? Most sellers will include aphone number to confirm details
Lurk  Why do I have 2 big hands when my D3 maintenance requires small hands and at least three of them ?

Front Pads were £40 odd quid from TLO not long ago, so the rears will be roughly the same, sensors are a tenner of so if you need them, depends how ham fisted the fitter is removing the old ones (if they have'nt sent the warning to the dash already)

If you do decide to go for EBC, avoid GreenStuff pads. Utter sh*te IMHO
Much better are the ceramic RedStuff pads. Squeal for a bit until they bed in, but are the best brake pads I have ever fitted to my own car Must be the ceramic ones though
Would just go for whatever in the back end, as they dont tend to do much anyway, other than seize up  My D3 Build Thread

I've only changed the fronts on mine so far so can only comment on them.
I purchased a set of Ferodo Premier pads from our local LR independant, West 4x4, for £50 plus a few pence.
These had the fitting kit included(Bolts, Spring plates) plus the sensor.
Guy Salmon Portsmouth had quoted me just shy of £100, and priced the fitting kit seperately, so make sure that you do get the fitting kit by whatever means, as it might not be included.
Took an hour to do the whole lot, and as suggested elsewhere the most fiddly bit was the sensor wiring, but it was easy to get to by just taking two of the plastic wheelarch protection panel pins out and pulling it back far enough to get my hand up behind. I spent quite a bit of time cleaning all the muck out as well.
The pistons on both sides just pushed back once in a tight grip with my fingers so no need for 'G' Clamps or levers.
Nasher. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

It's a peice of cake for the pads. Takes longer to jack the car up & get the wheels off than it does to change pads Bodsys Brake Bible
