Brake light switch temperature dependent fault?

Evening all.

I'm having an intermittent problem at the moment. When driving the car I sometimes get a general electrical failure (no special programmes, suspension lowered, all the lights). Also, the auto box is reluctant to upshift occasionally and revs through to over 4000rpm under light load.

Error codes show 'brake switch circuit error'. It all seems to make sense that the brake switch is failing.

Question is, I replaced my brake switch about 6 months ago (Bearmach one, not genuine). Could it really be failing so soon? Also, it only seems to happen on very cold morning (like below zero degrees). Any reason for that? It almost seems like the switch is sticking when very cold.

Mine packed up well within a year. Got a FACET one this time which I hope will last a little longer.
