Brake Light Switch & Bulbs - Why The Problems?
One thing that has been puzzling me after reading numerous posts is why the brake switch or brake bulb issues can cause so many major issues with other systems?
I know they are complicated cars, but it seems very strange that a simple switch or bulb can cause a major meltdown of other systems.
Multiple systems share wiring, this is where canbus comes in, pulses are within the signal down the shared wiring which the car deciphers to follow commands, so if the brake light bulb for example is blown, the signals get interrupted to other modules sharing that wiring and hence the issues

If you touch the brake pedal whilst accelerating the car throws a wobbly because it doesn't know what it should be doing, sensors throwing signals that shouldn't be happening. Speed sensors increasing but brakes applied. Try it and watch the illuminations.

Not a good idea, but as the throttle is fly by wire, the potentiometers that manage the throttle body / pedal sense one action, yet the brake pedal / system and the ABS speed pulse another, confusion will ensue Altox GSM FBH controller thread

This shouldn't affect you in a D4 though as the brake lights are LED's 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Enlighten me, why won't I be able to find a D4 failure ( I've had a quick search and nothing so far)
