As Russell said, probably touching the pedal unintentionally as it does not take much contact to trip the electrics on the brake pedal.

Discussed before I think..... but is it normal/right to drive an automatic using the left foot as a brake? - seems weird to me, and obviously I never do....maybe this is the problem....
