Brake fluid on wheel rims?? |
|
After a 170km round trip with no heavy braking there seems to be a leakage of some sort appearing on the front wheel rims especially bad on the drivers side. The rims were perfectly clean at the start of the trip - didn't notice an issue with brake performance but then didn't use them much. Has anyone had the same symptom?

Are you sure it is brake fluid? If it is you sould find the clearcoat has been removed from the rims. Could be diff oil or CV joint grease. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

thanks for that - so it's probably not brake fluid. Booked into the stealers for tomorrow (yet again) let's see what they say.

Have this on mine - got it looked at and it's Brake Dust.
Apparently.
Never had any problems with the brakes, the only time I did I used a tree to stop me ...... Happy Land Rovers

are you sure its not the liquid they paint/spray on the tyres to make them look shiny, after a few miles the stuff migrates onto the rims and can be sticky If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works
